Sample Data

You can use Loggly’s sample evaluation data if you just want to do a quick test on the features of Loggly without uploading your own data. It’s about 2MB and contains over 6,000 events. It includes a variety of sources including Apache access and error logs, Django application server logs, Java stacktraces, JSON data, and more. You can use it to try out features like filters, automated parsing, trend analysis, dashboards, and more.

Linux or Mac Environment

  1. Send Data
You send data with one simple command. Open a terminal window, enter your token, then run it to upload the sample data to your account.

    curl -L https://www.loggly.com/install/LogglySample.log | curl -X POST -H "content-type:text/plain" --data-binary @- http://logs-01.loggly.com/bulk/CUSTOMER_TOKEN/tag/sample

    Replace:

    • CUSTOMER_TOKEN: Replace with your personal Customer Token you obtain from the Source Setup pages.

    sample-data-terminal
You should get the response ok code. If it says “Invalid API key” then make sure to insert your customer token.
